Dear Reader,
Since establishment of EJBC in 1999, EJBC has embarked on an annual workplan that aims at the promotion of economic, political and cultural relations at all levels in a public-private-partnership format in cooperation with both governments in Egypt and Japan. The main objectives of such workplan were:
- Increasing Japanese business involvement within the Egyptian economy as technology providers and technical operators as well as in terms of Joint Ventures.
- Promote the utilization of Egypt as a hub for Japanese businesses within the region with emphasis on modernization of industries through subcontracting to benefit from Egypt's competitive advantages and Free Trade agreements with the EU, Africa, Middle East, ..etc.
- Activate third country cooperation under Japanese Grant Aid with emphasis on the developing Countries.
- Increase cooperation with Japanese trading houses for the promotion of Egyptian exports to Japan and third countries and attract Japanese and third country investments.
- Increase the inflow of Japanese tourism to Egypt with emphasis on Japanese incentive tourism
- Avail trade and investment credit lines, implementing decentralized cooperation projects and supporting bilateral cooperation.
- Conduct advocacy at all levels to improve bilateral relations at all fronts and trouble shoot and facilitate ongoing relations.Support all Japanese operators in Egypt, and provide information and networking services to potential newcomers and receive all incoming delegations.
- Designing and implementing programs, projects, conferences, workshops, fairs and exhibitions in support of the above as well as one-to-one meetings with senior government officials and key members of the civil and business societies.
Pursuing the above, a series of activities were conducted, with full support of our counterpart in Japan, Japanese and Egyptian officials, Business Organizations, governmental bodies, Egyptian embassy in Tokyo and the Japanese embassy in Cairo.
